The Manito Ahbee - A Festival for All Nations event is an annual celebration that showcases Aboriginal music, culture and heritage. This 10-day festival incorporates indigenous arts and educational programs, like the Aboriginal People's Choice Music Awards, the International Competition Pow Wow, and the Metis Celebration which features the finest Aboriginal, First Nations and Metis performers from across North America!
Frontiers North is proud to offer this additional experience that fully incorporates the Manito Ahbee festival and Aboriginal culture with our world-famous Polar Bears in Churchill Tundra Buggy Adventure.
This additional experience allows you to take part in special festival activities such as the Opening Ceremonies, which includes a Pipe Ceremony and Seven Teachings. You will also travel to the Whiteshell Provincial Park and visit the Manito Ahbee Sacred Site and be invited to make a tobacco tie with the help of an Elder. In the evening, you will visit the Red Carpet and watch the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music awards live at MTS Centre. This awards show honours outstanding artistic achievements of Aboriginal artists in the Canadian and American music industry. This experience will also give you entry into the International Competition Pow Wow, where you will see traditional and contemporary styles of Aboriginal dance, drumming and singing explode with spirit and colour.
